This week’s 5 best bets for dining in Las Vegas

Solo trip

Beat the summer lunch doldrums with the new Summer of Sandwiches menu at Table 10 at the Palazzo. The sandwiches, which are $18 and available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, are a Colorado lamb gyro with garlic herb fries, adobo steak ranchero with tortilla chips and salsa, and a pork Cubano with sea salt and black-pepper chips.

Something new

Don Vito’s and Silverado Steakhouse at the South Point are offering three-course prix-fixe Summer Meal Deals, available from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 9 to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays. At Don Vito’s they’re $19 with entree choices of fettucine Alfredo, orange roughy marzano or twin medallions of beef, while at Silverado they’re $29 with entrees of a 6-ounce filet mignon, chicken Francaise or broiled fillet of salmon.

Family fun

School’s soon to be back in session, so for all of the families scrambling to buy school supplies, uniforms and all the other necessary stuff, here are a couple of money-saving ideas: Kids Eat Free is back at local IHOPs, which means a free choice from the Just for Kids menu with the purchase of an adult entree, 4 to 10 p.m. daily through Sept. 25. And Wienerschnitzel locations will celebrate National Root Beer Float Day on Saturday with free floats with any purchase; get the coupon at www.wienerschnitzel.com.

Date night

Searsucker at Caesar Palace is marking the resort’s 50th anniversary with a $50 prix-fixe menu available through the end of the month. It starts with biscuits before moving on to the choice of a jar such as tomato, burrata and olive. Entree choices are organic chicken, Scottish salmon or beer-braised short rib, and dessert is cookies and cream.

For friends

Been talking about the latest installment of “Hell’s Kitchen” with your friends? You can try winner Ariel Malone’s fare with a blackboard special at BLT Steak at Bally’s. Through Sunday that’s a cucumber-tomato salad; starting Monday it’ll be seared scallops in black-bean puree with summer corn salsa.
