LOCALS ONLY: Bring on the lyres and lutes for a touch of medieval
If the knaves, wenches and minstrels make you feel right at home, prepare to be bedeviled by the likes of the on-site ATMs and the free parking shuttle from Del Sol High School.
The 20th annual Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival is scheduled Friday through Sunday at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.
Come for the historical re-enactments, jousting tournaments and gladiator battles, but stay for the medieval barber and surgeon demonstrations.
Musical entertainment as well as magicians, jugglers, fire eaters, contortionists and storytellers will add up to more than 50 shows each day.
More than 100 artisans ranging from blacksmiths to stone carvers and perfume blenders to weapons craftsmen will sell their merchandise.
And it wouldn’t be a Renaissance fair without authentic food and ales.
The Age of Chivalry is open 10 a.m-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $10 per day and $5 for seniors 60 and older and children 5-12. Three-day passes are $25 and $10 respectively. Ages 4 and younger are admitted free.

Roast likely to succeed
Be there or be a knotty-pated clotpole.
They won’t be served by guys carrying skewers through the dining room, but skewer-roasted Brazilian-style meats are the centerpiece of Brazilian Steakhouse Night from 4 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday at the Rampart Buffet at the Rampart Casino, 221 N. Rampart Blvd. The Brazilian cocktail Caipirinha, made with cachaca and lime juice, also is being offered.
Fiendish fun
Honky tonk/hardcore hell-raiser Hank III recently released both a new country double-album, “Brothers of the 4X4,” as well as a punk disc, “A Fiendish Threat.” Expect to hear plenty of both at 9 p.m. Friday at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Welcome to the camp
Some folks only need a title. And when the title is “Blood Orgy of the Chainsaw Chorus Line,” you know they are the folks trying to pack both “Machete Kills” and this campy stage musical into the same Friday. Troy Heard directs this locally produced spoof in the fine tradition of “Evil Dead The Musical” at 8 p.m. Friday, continuing through Oct. 20 at the Onyx Theatre, 953 E.
