5 cheap music shows coming up in Vegas

On a budget? Check out these upcoming Las Vegas shows:

JEEP THRILLS

With silly song lyrics like "Treat me like a pirate and give me that booty" and videos to match, the men of Turquoise Jeep have the market cornered on corny. If absurdist electropop is your thing, don't miss these dudes Wednesday at Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets $15-$18. 702-862-2695

THE IMITATION GAME

Count's Vamp'd deserves an award for its tribute shows, which aren't of the run-of-the-mill variety. Like this week's show, for instance: How many acts have you seen do Kid Rock? Exactly. Catch Kid Cocky with Skynyrd tribute band Sweet Home Alabama on Friday. Admission is free.

PRECIOUS METAL

Hankering for some heavy music this weekend? You can't do much better than Thursday's Devastation of the Nation bill at LVCS featuring the brutal Brazilian death metal band Krisiun, with Origin, Aeon, Alterbeast, Soreption and Ingested. The show is at 8 p.m. Tickets are $17-$20. (702-382-3531)

SUPER TROUPERS

Speaking of metal, if you're a fan of bands like Lynch Mob, Great White and Bang Tango, Count's Vamp'd is the place to be Thursday night to catch Super Troup, which features former members of those acts, along with Brazen. The show is free and starts at 9:30 p.m.

STRING THEORY

If the name Jayke Orvis rings a bell, then you're probably a fan of either the .357 String Band, the Broken Band or the Goddamn Gallows. If so, you'll want to make your way to the Dive Bar on Saturday for a show featuring Orvis with My Graveyard Jaw. Tickets are $5; the show is at 10 p.m.
