5 concerts to see if you’re not going to Life is Beautiful

Danzig

If you can get past the puerile album cover and the fact that the vocals are painfully high in the mix, “Black Laden Crown,” the latest album from blues-metal Elvis disciple Glenn Danzig, boasts a number of earthy-sounding dirges and rippers that fit right in with the best of his deep catalog. Granted, Danzig can come off as a little self-parodying at times with his mucho-macho demeanor. But when you’re one of the greatest punk and metal frontmen of all time, you can flex a little — or, in Danzig’s case, every few seconds. See Danzig, with Deafheaven, Vamps and 3Teeth, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq. Tickets are $35; call 702-862-2695.

Motionless in White

The offspring of the “Beautiful People,” these unabashed Marilyn Manson acolytes update that shock rocker’s dark industrial metal for a new generation of fans. See Motionless in White, with The Amity Affliction, Miss May I and William Control, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets are $23; call 702-862-2695.

Inquisition

These cosmic black metallers from the Pacific Northwest have stars in their eyes and hate (for abbreviated song titles) in their hearts. Their latest album, 2016’s “Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith” (see!) is a mouthful of majestic-sounding malevolence. See Inquisition, with Uda and Volahan, at 8 p.m. Monday at Adrenaline Sports Bar & Grill. Tickets are $15; call 702-645-4139.

Life is …

This loaded lineup offers a bit of Life is Beautiful counterprogramming. The daylong blowout boasts 13 acts, ranging from some of the best in Vegas punk (Anti-Vision, Illicitor, Negative Nancys) to anti-folk favorite Hamell on Trial to New Zealand “boogie country” subverts Magic Factory. The fest kicks off at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Dive Bar. Tickets are $5 to $20; call 702-586-3483.

Metal Alliance Tour

It’s like the heavy metal version of “The Tortoise and the Hare”: This multi-band bill pits the fast and furious (thrashers Overkill, Havok and Black Fast) against the slow and pummeling (New Orleans sludge lords Crowbar). Who will come out on top in the end? All the longhairs in the crowd. The show starts at 7 p.m. Sunday at Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets are $25; call 702-862-2695.
