5 concerts to see in Las Vegas this week

Van Morrison

Brown-eyed girls, rejoice! Blue-eyed girls, go pound sand. OK, so maybe that’s not exactly the message that songwriting great Van Morrison is attempting to convey prior to his upcoming three-show stand in Vegas, but clearly there will be some favoritism going on at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Feb. 1 and 2 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Tickets are $59 to $250; call 866-320-9763.

Reverend Horton Heat

It’ll be a “Psychobilly Freakout” when the good reverend celebrates Backstage Bar & Billiards turning 5, Budweiser in place of birthday candles, at 8 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $20 in advance, $23 day of show; call 702-382-2227.

Y&T

Even in the dead of winter, there’s no rest for those “Summertime Girls” when veteran L.A. hard rockers Y&T helpfully apply a little SPF 30 to the shoulders of that ’80s staple and more at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Count’s Vamp’d. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; call 702-220-8849.

Kyng

They call their sound “California heavy,” and true to that designation, these sun-baked stoner metallers favor riffs as dense and impenetrable as rush-hour traffic in their native L.A. See them at 8 p.m. Friday at the Dive Bar. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; call 702-586-3483.

Calibash

Calibash? Shouldn’t they change the name or something — Nevabash? — when this SoCal-born, urban music mega-concert returns to Vegas, featuring Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Maluma, Farruko, Ozuna and Bad Bunny, at 8 p.m. Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. Tickets are $27.89 to $157.60; call 702-692-1600.
