Band of Horses playing poolside

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is the hip place to catch a lot of Coachella festival acts this week. But it runs the risk of drawing old guys by booking Band of Horses to play poolside on Saturday.

The band has never tried to hide its influences of the Eagles, Neil Young and America, while somehow being the rare group that didn’t march said influences directly to Nashville.

The Seattle-born band fronted by Ben Bridwell even hired classic-rock veteran Glyn Johns (the Eagles, among others) to produce its latest album, “Mirage Rock,” the follow-up to its big breakthrough “Infinite Arms.”

So tell that old dude next to you to quit obsessing about whether he’s going to be able to get Rolling Stones tickets and use some of that boomer cash to buy you a beer.
