Their latest album is titled “Freak Out!” and the exclamation point is telling: Teenage Bottlerocket’s tunes are better when bellowed.

Said album, the Wyoming pop punk quartet’s fifth, is a headlong rush of broken hearts, haunted comic books and various “Top Gun” references, the album’s 14 tracks as muscular as they are melodic.

It’s kind of ironic, then, that they goof on hair flinging metal fans during “Headbanger” considering that the band’s songs pack enough punch to appeal to the very same dudes they’re playfully ribbing.
