Rod Stewart ‘Having a Party’ at Caesars Palace

Roger Daltrey has more to do than review Las Vegas shows. But he had a fair take on rock-god peer Rod Stewart.

Assessing his own chances of being a Las Vegas regular, Daltrey noted that Stewart offers "a safe, entertaining night out," not as demanding as a night of Who music. Indeed, Stewart's Las Vegas shows are a relaxed celebration of his career, backed by a slick, crisp but nonaggressive band.

In his first batch of late-summer shows, the Scottish sex god did attempt to touch down on the more somber days of his career with an acoustic set that included the serious "The Killing of Georgie."

But mostly, he's "Having a Party." Tickets are $49-$250 for 7:30 p.m. shows Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Nov. 19-20 in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Call 731-7333.
