Your 5 best bets for music in the week ahead

It’s a hell of a week for shows in Las Vegas. There are so many to see that you’ll have to make some tough choices. Sorry to add to your agony, but here’s another: New Order is set to play the Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Monday. Tickets start at $30.

The Dwarves

The Dwarves are bringing their punk perfection back to Vegas for a show at the LVCS with the equally enthralling Queers. Feel free to do the dance of joy. The show — which also includes Since We Were Kids, Thrill Killers, IDFI, Dog of Society, the Perverts and Jerk — starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 to $15.

String Cheese Incident

Brooklyn Bowl has become a hotbed for the best bands from the jam scene, and this week is no exception. The laudable Linq venue brings the String Cheese Incident to town Friday for a three-night stand. The shows are $59.50 to $60 and start at 9 p.m.

Yuck

If you’ve heard this British band’s beguiling guitar goodness, you’ll agree that there’s no bigger misnomer in indie rock than this group being named Yuck. Its irresistible sound is about as tasty as it gets. See for yourself Tuesday at the Bunkhouse Saloon. Tickets are $10 to $12.

Nonpoint

Feel like helping yourself to some heavier sounds? Nonpoint, Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s finest fiery rockers, are set to play Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel with First Class Trash and For the Fight on Friday. Tickets for the show, which starts at 8 p.m., are $20 to $35.
