LMFAO taking over Vegas clubs this weekend

This weekend is brought to you in part by LMFAO, that ubiquitous dance act that has not only dominated music charts but Vegas clubs.

On Sunday, LMFAO performs at the MGM’s Billboard Music Awards.

On Monday, one half of LMFAO (Redfoo) performs his regular “Party Rock” DJ gig at Marquee nightclub inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

And on Sunday afternoon, Redfoo’s music partner Sky Blu launches his own DJ residency (“Who Wants To Party?”) at MGM’s Wet Republic pool dayclub.

Sky Blu tells me he’s bringing his whole crew of musicians to Wet Republic for a day of “something extreme,” though he’s keeping its secrets under wraps.

“I don’t want nobody to take these ideas until we do them. I want to be the first ones to ever do this in Vegas,” he says.

“Something I can tell you is, I go to these Vegas parties, and some of the giveaways are sucky and so bad!” he says.

“So we’re priding ourselves in our giveaways. They are gonna be (expletive) really dope (expletive) – really nice-feeling shirts, not some shirt that dies as soon as you wash it.

“It’s about having fun. That’s why we call it ‘Who Wants To Party?’ Because I want to know who’s gonna have fun and rock, you know?”

I told him the lens-free glasses that LMFAO popularized (but Redfoo wears more often) took over the Vegas scene last year. But fads burn out. So what’s next?

“I haven’t worn those glasses in a long time, but actually we got some gnarly-ass glasses for the (Sunday) party – just bright fun colors. They’ve got shades, but they flip up like the old-school (expletive).”

Sky Blu returns to Wet Republic May 27 and launches another residency at Caesars club Pure the same day.
