You might think crispy fried shrimp and asparagus crispy tempura, on the same menu at the same restaurant, would be much the same. You might think it’s impossible (or at least improbable) that tofu could be lightly crispy on the outside and almost creamy (and most definitely not rubbery) on the inside. But if you were eating at Raku, you’d be mistaken on all counts.

Costco brings back elusive Caspers dogs

If there’s anything I’ve learned in nearly 10 years of writing the Taste of the Town column, it’s that readers love their hot dogs — their specific brands of hot dogs. And with grilling season in full swing, it’s only right that a local source for Caspers hot dogs has been found for Jennifer Esposito and others. Bob Swantek, Susan Raffa, Van Bohrer and Connie Hannon all said they’re back in Costco stores, with Swantek speculating that they may be a seasonal item. …

So there I was at Cafe Deia, reeling off the list of tapas we were ordering, and after each of the first three, our waiter nodded and said, "Good choice; good one."
