Liza Minnelli performing at LVH

If you want to hear the Liza of 1974 you certainly can. A rerelease of her milestone "Live at the Winter Garden" concert is remastered and for sale once again.

The Liza Minnelli you will hear this weekend has traveled some hard miles since then .

If Saturday's show at LVH is anything like those at the former Hilton last fall, she still sells every song with a compelling stage presence, comparable to Frank Sinatra's later decades.

The musical storytelling even included Charles Aznavour's cross-dressing anthem "What Makes a Man." If Minnelli found any irony in stealing something back from the drag shows that make a living imitating her, she didn't let on.

The 66-year-old continues a Las Vegas career that began at the Sahara at age 19.

"Somebody said, 'You have to do a nightclub act.' And I said, 'What do you mean? Huh?'... I was too young for that. I was underage. I couldn't even walk through the casino," she noted last fall.
