Despite a volatile economy, there’s one thing our great nation (and certain tax-friendly portions of Canada) still do better than anyone.

Produce Christmas movies.

Dozens upon dozens of basic-cable Christmas movies every year.

Long after mankind becomes extinct, cockroaches — at least the American ones — will surely start cranking out Christmas movies.

The onslaught started weeks ago on Hallmark, Lifetime and their movie channel offshoots.

You’ll find an expanded list of the offerings in next Thursday’s Life section.

Until then, whet your appetites with “Seasons of Love” (9 p.m. Sunday, Lifetime), the holiday romance co-starring longtime Las Vegan Gladys Knight.
