99 Words About … The return of AMC’s unkillable ‘The Killing’

“Arrested Development”? Absolutely.

“Veronica Mars”? Why not?

Even “24’s” coming back next summer.

But not every dead series deserves resurrection.

Take “The Killing” (8 p.m. Sunday, AMC).

After a promising start, the bleak drama began serving up more red herrings than a Soviet-era fish house.

When “The Killing’s” first-season finale incited a viewer revolt, its creator was dismissive, if not downright rude, to its dwindling fan base.

Now, nearly a year after it was put out of its misery, it’s back.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, and AMC will probably just revive you again anyway.
