Where to watch ‘Purple Rain’ in Las Vegas

If you missed last Saturday’s “Purple Rain” screening at the Palms, there’s no reason to go crazy.

The 1984 drama starring Prince, Morris Day, Apollonia and one of the all-time great soundtracks is roaring back into local theaters Wednesday, six days after the singer’s untimely death.

The theaters at Boulder Station, Red Rock, South Point, Suncoast and Texas Station are hosting several screenings each day through Sunday. Boulder and Texas are scheduled to continue showing it through at least May 4.

AMC Town Square gets in on the action with five screenings of “Purple Rain” on Friday.

The West Wind Drive-In has added a special showing at midnight Saturday.

And the Inspire Theatre, 107 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is saluting the Purple One with screenings at 5 and 8 p.m. Saturday. An after party with Prince-themed drinks will follow the 8 p.m. showing.
