Show Us Your Purse

■ Who? Candace Thompson, Vegas PBS Ready to Learn Coordinator

■ Location: Vegas PBS

■ Handbag: Beijo frame bag

■ Are handbags status symbols? Status depends on who you surround yourself with. Some people value material things. Others, not so much.

■ What does this bag say about you? I'm simple, vibrant and fun.

■ If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? I'm healthy, always on the go and focused.

■ What's the most important item you've carried in your bag? A day planner. Yes, "old school," but reliable should my iPhone decide to take a break.

■ What's the strangest item you've carried in your bag? A medal from my first full marathon. I carried it to work one day to share it with my co-workers.

■ Tell us about the first special bag you owned. A Dooney & Bourke drawstring bag. It was a gift from my husband. He said, "better to buy something good once, rather than many cheap items."

■ Knockoffs: Love 'em or hate 'em? While imitation is considered a sincere form of flattery, there's nothing like the real thing.

■ Image is ... important as long as you never forget your core values.

■ What's in your bag?  iPod shuffle, Stride gum, dental floss, Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother Cooling Hydragel Sheen in "sparkle," Neutrogena sunscreen, Justin's Almond Butter Packets (My favorite snack for running. Plus, you never know when you or a friend might need a nutritious pick-me-up).
