Show Us Your Purse

■ Who? Stephanie Stallworth, director of public affairs for Cox Communications and Las Vegas Natural History Museum board member

■ Location: Las Vegas Natural History Museum Dinosaur Gallery

■ Handbag: Brighton paprika red tote

■ Are handbags status symbols? Handbags have definitely evolved into status symbols, although I don't buy them based on the label. The personality and functionality of the bag is more important to me, which is why I'm a big fan of Brighton.

■ What does this bag say about you? It says I'm organized, fashionable, professional, but still fun.

■ If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? They'd think that this bag belongs to a very busy, organized, multitasking, working mom who cares about her community (specifically local culture). They'd also assume that the handbag owner has a weird lip gloss fetish.

■ What's the most important item you've carried in your bag? My camera. It has allowed me to capture some very special events and memories.

■ What's the strangest item you've carried in your bag? I've been known to carry a Cox remote control and channel listing because people sometimes need tutorials, and it's easier to show them than it is to explain it.

■ Tell us about the first special bag you owned. It was a bright pink Barbie bag, of course! I packed it full of Barbie clothes/accessories and carried it to my friend's house. Even as a young girl I liked pretty bags that reflected my personality and were functional. Barbie is still one of my idols.

■ Image is ... what people perceive and see on the outside, but is actually developed and nurtured from the inside.

■ What's in your bag? "Why yes, I am over-qualified" nostalgic notepad/pen (Given to me by a dear friend. I'm always jotting down notes.), laminated photos of my two children (Their faces make me smile, regardless of what I'm doing.), Angel by Thierry Mugler perfume (my signature fragrance), Bath & Body Works Liplicious lip gloss, camera (I'm always snapping pictures.), Las Vegas Natural History Museum brochure (It drives me crazy when people say we don't have culture in Las Vegas!).
