The Big Night

Who cares who you're going with, where you plan to hang out afterward or what mode of transportation will get you there. You know good and well, the one thing you care about when it comes to prom is the dress you'll be wearing. In fact, you probably had it all picked out before you even had a date.

We don't blame you, either. Prom is like high school kids' very own Academy Awards. It's their fashion event of the year so they dress to impress.

According to Simone Salen, store manager of Jessica McClintock at Fashion Show mall, the older the promgoer, the more seriously she takes the event. The short and poufy look -- think '80s -- is the dominant trend, but senior girls want long and white. "Seniors want to be seen as the queen of the ball," Salen says.

Back interest, bold colors, a combination of black and white and tulle and lace fabrics are all hot for prom, too. Plenty of options for your big night. Take a look at some of the hottest trends at various pricepoints.
