1 hospitalized in rollover near Lake Mead

An 87-year-old woman was flown to a local hospital after an RV rollover crash near Lake Mead Monday, according to the National Park Service.

Henderson police, the Clark County Fire Department, Care Flight and the National Park Service were called to the crash about 12:15 p.m. on Northshore Road, near Calville Washington North Road, about 16 miles northeast of the intersection of Northshore and Lakeshore roads, said NPS spokeswoman Christie Vanover.

The single-vehicle crash sent an 87-year-old woman to a local hospital by helicopter. An 89-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, Vanover said.

The pair's camper van had traveled off the roadway and dropped 10 to 15 feet off an embankment, Vanover wrote in a release Monday afternoon.

"The couple suffered non-life threatening injuries," the release said.

Northshore was closed briefly. Traffic in both directions was being directed on one lane about 1:30 p.m., Vanover said.
