1 wounded in south Las Vegas shooting

A shooting at a south valley home on Monday has put one person in the hospital and another in custody, according to Las Vegas police.

Police received a call at 12:48 p.m. reporting that someone had been shot at a residence in the 10000 block of Rocky Tree Street, near the intersection of East Pyle Avenue and Bermuda Road.

Officers found a person with a gunshot wound to the leg who was taken to University Medical Center with no indications of life-threatening injuries, according to Officer Laura Meltzer. The shooter is in custody and being questioned, said Meltzer, adding that it’s unclear what led to the shooting.

Violent crimes detectives were on scene Monday afternoon to determine whether the shooting was accidental or intentional.
