2 arrested in string of northwest robberies

Las Vegas police arrested two people Tuesday who they say were involved in nearly a dozen northwest valley robberies.

The series of armed robberies on small businesses began Aug. 11. A man reportedly robbed salons, check cashing businesses and a laundromat while armed with a handgun. A woman was seen driving him away from the robbery scenes in a red Toyota Camry.

After the 10th robbery in the spree occurred on Tuesday near Buffalo and Vegas drives, police arrested Maegan Thistle and Gjergj Kastrioti Millan. The pair faces charges including burglary and robbery with a deadly weapon.

Thistle, 25, and Millan, 26, are at Clark County Detention Center. Thistle is being held on $120,000 bail and Millan on $122,000, according to the jail.
