Updated September 23, 2017 - 4:14 pm

Two men are dead after a crash early Saturday morning west of the Strip, Las Vegas police said.

A 2006 Dodge Charger, driven by 33-year-old Patrick Lacy, Jr., was westbound on Spring Mountain Road at 3:08 am. when it entered the intersection of West Spring Mountain and Polaris Avenue against a red light.

The Dodge slammed into the driver’s side of a 2014 Ford Fiesta traveling south on Polaris. The 56-year-old driver and his 36-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the release said.

Lacy, the Dodge’s driver, was hospitalized with moderate injuries and was later booked into the Clark County Detention Center under suspicion of drunken driving.

The Clark County coroner will release the names of the two men who died after their families have been notified.
