3 wounded, 1 critically, in shooting near Las Vegas Convention Center
Three people were shot near the Las Vegas Convention Center on Monday afternoon, police said, and one is in critical condition.
Police were called to the 500 block of Sierra Vista Drive, near Paradise Road, about 1:40 p.m. Gang detectives are investigating.
The three who were shot had returned to their apartment where two armed attackers were waiting, Metro supervisor Lt. Dave Valenta said. They were held hostage briefly before being shot.
The two gunmen may have been looking for revenge after being previously ripped off by the three people, Valenta said.
Police had not made any arrests as of 6 p.m.
