Bomb threat in furniture store determined safe

Metro police and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue’s bomb squad evacuated the area around a Walker Furniture store after a person reported a suspicious item under their car that could have been an explosive device.
Emergency crews responded to the store, located 4150 E. Cheyenne Ave., near Lamb Boulevard, about 7 p.m. on Friday.
Fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said the bomb squad was assisting Las Vegas police with the investigation.
Las Vegas police spokesman Jesse Roybal later confirmed that the item was determined to be safe.
