Car hits man who fell out of wheelchair on Maryland Parkway
A man on a wheelchair suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car Saturday on Maryland Parkway near Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas police said.
The 73-year-old man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. His condition wasn't immediately known.
Officers and medical crews were called shortly after noon to southbound Maryland Parkway, just south of Desert Inn, police said. The man on the wheelchair exited a business through a ramp, left the sidewalk and fell on the street.
The 28-year-old driver of the 2010 Dodge Charger swerved trying to miss the man, but hit him, police said. The woman was cooperating with police and wasn't suspected of driving under the influence.
