Child found not breathing in pool in east valley, sent to hospital

A child pulled from a pool and reported to not be breathing Wednesday morning is alive, according to Metro.
Police received the call of the near drowning at 10:34 a.m. in the 3000 block of Avila Street, near Rainbow Boulevard and Twain Avenue.
The child, whose age wasn’t immediately available, was given CPR and taken to Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center by the person who found him or her in the pool, according to officer Larry Hadfield.
“The child is breathing,” Hadfield said about 11 a.m.
Additional details were not immediately available.
