Coroner identifies 2 killed in Monday confrontation

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the two people killed in a Monday domestic violence confrontation and subsequent home invasion.

Angela Tamayo-Espinoza, 34, died from multiple stab wounds.

Police say 40-year-old Scott Brown was lying in wait as Tamayo-Espinoza drove along the 4900 block of Ocean Shores Way, near Jones Boulevard and Lone Mountain Road. Brown rammed her car with his pickup truck, broke out her window and stabbed her about 13 times, police said.

Tamayo-Espinoza was sent to University Medical Center where she later died.

Police said Brown then escaped to North Las Vegas and, armed with a knife, forced his way into a home located in the 4600 block of Candlas Way, near Decatur Boulevard and Lone Mountain Road. Police said he used his truck to ram the house before entering it.

Brown fought with the homeowner, who shot him multiple times.

Brown died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the coroner’s office.
