‘Crazy Girls,’ iconic statue bound for Planet Hollywood

“Crazy Girls” may have had its last show at the Riviera on Friday, but the topless revue is headed for Planet Hollywood, the owner said Friday night.

Norbert Aleman, who founded the show in 1984 and brought it to the Riviera in 1987, said it will begin at its new home on May 13. The contract is expected to be finalized soon.

The owner also plans to relocate the famous bronze butts statue at the Riviera entrance to its new home as early as Monday. The statue will be taken from its current position in front of the Riviera on Monday at 9 a.m., Aleman said.

Roaring applause from nearly 200 people greeted the seven “Crazy Girls” as they took the stage for Friday’s final Riviera performance. The Planet Hollywood version of the show will feature 10 girls, Aleman said.

“We’re looking forward to a bigger stage and more girls,” he said. “This will be a great place for us.”

Performers interviewed by the Review-Journal were melancholy at leaving the Rivera and excited about the revue’s new home.

“It’s an honor to be on the last cast here,” said dancer Danielle Kozel. “We’re going to miss it.”

“So much history,” said singer Michelle Davis, “but thankfully, the show goes on.”
