Barefoot Bob’s Beach Bar
1590 E. Flamingo Road, east of South Maryland Parkway; 702-697-0529
The philosophy at Barefoot Bob’s is “Life’s too short to Beach about.” Amen. The relaxed atmosphere lends itself to the tapas menu, which features hot and cold small plates. Among the chilled tapas are cucumber-tomato salad, roasted beets with goat cheese and almonds, ceviche, smoked salmon on toast with sour cream and chives, Caesar salad with white anchovies, and Tricolor (avocado, mozzarella, tomato). Popular hot tapas are vegetable tempura, stuffed dates, escargot, flatbread, potato croquet (potato, ham, cheese), onion rings, and crispy breaded green olives filled with beef. Other tapas include mango chicken, pub-style fish sticks, meatball sliders, tamales, beef empanadas (puff pastry with beef and vegetables) and lobster ravioli. Several large plates are tortellini with Alfredo sauce (add chicken or shrimp), crab cakes, spinach salad (add chicken or shrimp), penne with pink vodka sauce, lamb loin chop, and Surf and Turf with grilled rib-eye steak and shrimp scampi served with fries and vegetables. Dessert tapas are cupcakes, tiramisu, ice cream and Nutella S’mores. Group platters offer 20 chicken fingers, 20 sliders, 20 meatballs or 20 wings with spicy Buffalo sauce. Tapas begin at $3, and platters start at $15. Barefoot Bob’s kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
