Dining Pick of the Week: Bon Chef Cafe

There are many reasons to discover Bon Chef Cafe, and two are breakfast served all day and the matzo ball casserole, a flavorful chicken soup with light, fluffy matzo dumplings. Among the breakfast entrees are spinach omelet, chicken fried steak with country gravy, Meat Lover's omelet (bacon, sausage, ham, cheddar) and 8-ounce sirloin steak with eggs and Bon Chef potatoes. Half-pound hamburgers are grilled over mesquite, along with kebabs such as chicken, shrimp, beef and veggies. Other sandwiches are tuna, turkey, club, pastrami, corned beef and BLT. Featured entrees are chicken Marsala, marinated rotisserie chicken, mixed grill kebab (beef, chicken, kofta and lamb or pork chop), chicken Florentine and seafood paella with shrimp, chicken, clams, mussels, fish, scallops and chorizo. There are appetizers (hummus with pita, shrimp ceviche, lobster bisque) and salads starring Bon Chef with greens, provolone, cranberries, red onion, tomato, Kalamata olives, garbanzo and mushrooms in raspberry vinaigrette. Desserts include tiramisu, chocolate mousse and cheese cake to be enjoyed with lattes and cappuccinos. Breakfast begins at $8.50 and entrees at $9.99. Bon Chef Cafe is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. - Jack Bulavsky
