October 11, 2013 - 10:38 am
Fremont Mediterranean Cafe
Neonopolis, 450 Fremont St.; 702-366-9501
After a night experiencing those large colorful cocktails at the Fremont Street Experience, fresh, natural and healthy is a smart dining decision. Begin with appetizers such as hummus tzatziki (Greek yogurt with cucumbers, garlic, dill, mint dip), stuffed grape leaves, falafel, lentil soup, gazpacho and Caprese, which is buffalo mozzarella with ripe tomatoes, extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic reduction. Healthy salads are golden beets with goat cheese, Caesar, Greek and albacore tuna. Wraps (turkey avocado with Provolone; chicken chipotle; vegetarian; roast beef; ham Dijon with Swiss) can be made with whole wheat, spinach, rosemary olive or tomato basil wraps. Gourmet hamburgers (pesto turkey, lamb, Angus) come with shoestring or sweet potato fries. Among the cold subs on French bread are chicken or turkey avocado, Italian, vegetarian and roast beef with cheddar, while several hot subs are pastrami, meatball, spicy Italian sausage and Philly. Signature kabobs (lamb, shrimp, veggie, salmon, chicken, beef), marinated in onions, herbs and house seasonings, are served with fire-roasted veggies, hummus and grilled pita with saffron rice or toasted pearl couscous. Salads start at $6.95, and wraps are $8.95. Fremont Mediterranean Cafe is open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to midnight Sunday.
