The Life is Beautiful music and art festival got underway Friday with thousands jamming downtown Las Vegas to groove to the sounds Billie Eilish, Portugal, The Man and Chance the Rapper.

Other events include a book signing at the Mob Museum and the monthly Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School at a First Street bar.

In its seventh year, Life is Beautiful is expanding its art lineup to include more 3D installations, immersive works and interactive pieces.
More than 195,000 people are expected to attend next weekend’s festival. But the festival’s impact goes far beyond one weekend every September.
The Oakey Family Supper Club is is equal parts family drama, murder-mystery party and that game where everyone says one word at a time to create a fictional story.
Other activities include the annual Bite of Las Vegas festival, concerts and Saturday night’s Market in the Alley.
Other downtown events coming up include a silent night of disco a burlesque course and Art Appreciation Month at the children’s museum.
A chef’s table experience, a vegan component with ingredients from local farms and 60 restaurants/vendors will provide food for festivalgoers.
Other upcoming events include a luau party at Container Park and a jukebox-and-the-mob-themed historical presentation.
Downtown Las Vegas Events Center has hosted more than 500 music shows, and nearly 100 viewing parties.
Others include Market in the Alley, a rally to oppose renaming of Debbie Reynolds Drive and a forum presented by Metro at The Mob Museum.
