A reputed gang member has pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a pimp outside a Las Vegas strip club.
Christopher Mallett, a known member of the Rolling 60s Crips, pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder in the slaying of 28-year-old Antonio Logan outside the Crazy Horse III nightclub on Russell Road, according to court records.
Mallett, 28, was originally charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, discharging a gun into an occupied structure and burglary. He faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison at his March sentencing.
Mallett was arrested on Feb. 5 at a fourplex in the 1700 block of Marion Drive near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue after police responded to a domestic disturbance involving a man chasing a woman and trying to hit her while she was holding a baby.
Officers found Mallett holding the baby, and a background check showed he had outstanding warrants, according to a police report. About a week later, Mallett was picked out of a photo line up by a cab driver at the Crazy Horse III who witnessed the Jan. 11, 2014 shooting, the report said.
Police said Mallett shot Logan in the chest after he bragged about the productivity of one of his prostitutes.
A prostitute who was with some of Mallett’s friends just before the shooting said that the entourage tried to enter the club but was turned away because they weren’t dressed appropriately.
As he walked back to his white Dodge Challenger, Logan reportedly told the group, “My girl can spend circles around you girls.”
Police pinpointed Mallett through a series of videos, starting with one outside the nearby Chevron and earlier at the Red Label Lounge Bar near the Stratosphere on West Sahara Avenue, where the group had been partying before going to Crazy Horse III.
