December 26, 2014 - 12:06 pm
An inmate died in Las Vegas on Wednesday of what Nevada Department of Corrections officials called a chronic medical condition.
Russell Bluebaugh, a 43-year-old inmate at the Southern Desert Correctional Center in Indian Springs, was taken to Valley Hospital Medical Center on Dec. 4 for his medical condition and died a few weeks later at the hospital.
Prison officials didn’t specify what kind of chronic medical condition Bluebaugh had.
Bluebaugh was serving a 4- to 10-year sentence stemming from a burglary he committed in Washoe County. He had been in prison since May 14.
The Clark County coroner’s office will determine his cause of death.
