An inmate who escaped a work camp in Ely has been picked up in the east Las Vegas Valley, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Courtland Kimble, 25, "walked away" from the Ely Conservation Camp on Oct. 3, the Nevada Department of Corrections wrote in a release Wednesday. He was found Tuesday at the Sunset Cove apartment complex near the intersection of Charleston and Nellis boulevards and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on an escape charge.
He was admitted to the Department of Corrections in June 2009 and was serving two to six years for robbery with a deadly weapon, the release said. He arrived at the conservation camp on Sept. 9.
Ely Conservation Camp, run by the Nevada Department of Corrections, is a minimum security facility.
