A 19-year-old man was indicted by a Clark County grand jury Friday in the fatal shooting of his friend last year.

Prosecutors said Varner approached Richard at his home and fired one shot from a revolver in the back of the victim’s head and then stole his iPhone. Varner told police he sold the gun to a gang member for $130.

Varner, who is in custody on unrelated traffic violations in North Las Vegas, was ordered held without bail in the murder case.
