A Las Vegas man died Wednesday after driving a stolen scooter into oncoming traffic on Sept. 18 in Henderson.
The man, 26, was driving his scooter in a construction zone at the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Clover Street about 9 p.m., Henderson police said.
The man was headed north as he approached the intersection. As a car in front of him turned right into an apartment complex, the man tried to pass on the left.
He ran into a traffic barrel, causing him to lose control of the scooter, police said.
The man then hit a construction sign before veering into oncoming traffic on southbound Green Valley Parkway, police said. He was hit by a black 2008 Infiniti sedan.
Police determined the man's scooter was stolen from a Las Vegas owner. He was not wearing a helmet.
