Las Vegas man shot and killed in garage identified

The man who was shot and killed in his southwest valley garage Monday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office Wednesday morning.

Las Vegan Miguel Angel Orozco, 32, was shot and killed after an altercation with 30-year-old Julio Rodriguez about 4:45 a.m., police say.

Rodriguez pulled up to Orozco’s home in the 6400 block of Gunderson Boulevard, near Torrey Pines Drive and Harmon Avenue, where Orozco was working on his car, and the two men began to argue.

Police say Rodriguez flashed a handgun, then shot Orozco as he ran from the SUV.

Orozco was transported to University Medical Center where he later died from his gunshot wounds, the coroner said.

The search for Rodriguez and the passenger in his 1999 black Mercedes SUV is still active, police say.

“Rodriguez should be considered armed and dangerous,” police wrote in a Monday release.

He is described as 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing 170 pounds and has close-cropped dark hair and brown eyes.

His Mercedes has large chrome rims and tinted windows, the release said.
