Las Vegas police, fire officials investigate restaurant fire

Las Vegas police are investigating a Wednesday morning restaurant fire that appears to have been set to conceal a crime, according to a Las Vegas Fire Department release.

The fire at Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant, 2201 S. Maryland Parkway, just north of Sahara Avenue, was reported by a passer-by just before 4:30 a.m.

First responders found a broken window and said someone may have broken into the restaurant.

Chuy’s was closed at the time of the small fire and no one was injured, the release said. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

Fire investigators and Metro will determine the cause of the fire.
