Las Vegas police search for armed CVS robber

Las Vegas police said a southeast valley CVS was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday, and officers are looking for the thief.
The robbery occurred about 11:20 a.m. at the CVS Pharmacy at 2425 E. Desert Inn Road, at the intersection with Eastern Avenue. The robber had a handgun, but no one was hurt.
Witnesses said they may have seen the robber on foot in a neighborhood near Spencer Street and Commanche Drive. Police said the robber was male, but did not provide other details.
Orr Middle School and Thomas Elementary School were locked down shortly while police looked for the robber in the area.
Police say the robber was last seen getting into a car and driving off. Police were unable to provide details on the description of the car.
The Metro air unit was flying in the area looking for the robber.
He is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
