Las Vegas police seek 3 older teens in fatal shooting

Las Vegas police are looking for three teens who fled the scene of a fatal shooting that started as a robbery Tuesday night.

Officers found Laura McKinney lying in the 1900 block of Simmons Street, near Lake Mead Boulevard, at about 10:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The 22-year-old Las Vegas resident was taken to University Medical Center, where she died, Las Vegas police Lt. David Gordon said.

Police describe the three they are looking for only as black males in their late teens.

The initial investigation indicated McKinney and a friend were approached by the men. One of them was armed with a handgun and demanded her belongings, police said. He fired one round that fatally wounded McKinney.

Las Vegas robbery and homicide detectives responded.
