Las Vegas SWAT officers involved in Thursday shooting identified

The SWAT officers involved in Thursday’s shooting near Westcliff Drive and Rainbow Boulevard have been identified.

The shooting occurred after a SWAT team entered the apartment of a man wanted on child pornography charges. No one was injured in the shooting.

Sergeant Roderick Hunt, 48, has been employed with the Las Vegas Police Department since 1989.

Officer Jay James, 40, has been with Las Vegas Police since 2000. Both are currently assigned to the Emergency Operations Bureau, SWAT section.

Hunt and James have been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of the incident.
