Man dead, another hospitalized after crash at outlet mall

One man died and another suffered "substantial" injuries in a crash at the Las Vegas South Premium Outlet Mall early Saturday morning, according to Las Vegas police.

Officers were called just before 4 a.m. to the south parking lot of the outlet mall, 7400 Las Vegas Blvd. S., where a 2015 Polaris Slingshot, a three-wheeled motorcycle, entered the parking lot near Robindale Road and Giles Street, struck a curb on the south side of a flood channel, went airborne and landed on the south side of the channel, Metro wrote in a release.

The 25-year-old driver and the 18-year-old passenger, both of Las Vegas, were pulled from the car and taken to University Medical Center with critical and substantial injuries, respectively.

The driver of the car died on the way to the hospital, the release said.

This is the 74th traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
