Man dies four days after Henderson crash

An 18-year-old man who was hospitalized Saturday after a crash involving a tractor-trailer has died, according to Henderson police.

The man, who will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office, was driving a 2000 Acura Integra northbound on North Green Valley Parkway when he struck a 2004 International Truck Tractor pulling a dirt hauler in the intersection at Windmill Parkway.

According to a Henderson police news release, the tractor-trailer was attempting to turn left from southbound Green Valley Parkway onto Windmill when the Acura, traveling at a high rate of speed, slammed into its right side.

The driver of the Acura was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The coroner's office notified Henderson officials Wednesday that he had died.

Police said the driver of the Acura may have been under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the crash.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, who was not injured, remained at the scene and cooperated with police, according to the news release.

This is the 10th traffic-related fatality in Henderson this year.
