Man found dead in west valley Sunday identified
The man found dead in the 4500 block of Bonita Vista Street late Sunday was misidentified as residing in Las Vegas. The deceased, Marcell Portier Titus, 20, in fact lived in North Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner.
A call reporting a shooting and a man down on Bonita Vista Street, near Peace Way, came in just before midnight Sunday, Metro Lt. David Gordon said.
Titus suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said an argument broke out between the victim and another man. The argument escalated to a physical altercation. While the men were fighting, the shooter fired at the victim multiple times, striking him, according to a Monday news release.
The shooter fled on foot.
A Hispanic male with black hair and a gray shirt was seen running west on Peace Way near the scene, police said.
This is the 107th homicide investigated by Metro in 2015.
