Man hit by car in central Las Vegas Valley has critical injuries

Updated September 19, 2017 - 3:08 am

A man was hospitalized with critical injuries Monday night after he was hit by a car in the central valley.

The crash was reported at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday at Sahara Avenue east of Maryland Parkway.

A pedestrian, about 60-70 years old, was crossing Sahara outside a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a 2003 Nissan Sentra driving eastbound, police said. The man was taken to Sunrise Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.

The Nissan’s 36-year-old driver stayed at the scene and police said impairment was not a factor. At about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday the man was still listed in critical condition.
