Man in critical condition after being struck by car

A 57-year-old pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the southwest valley Sunday night, according to Las Vegas police.

The man, who is possibly homeless and was jaywalking at the time of the crash, was at University Medical Center in critical condtion, Metro Lt. Dave Valenta said.

First responders were called about 7:40 p.m. to 6745 W. Flamingo Rd., near the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard.

The man was struck while crossing Flamingo, Valenta said. Eastbound Flamingo was closed at Rainbow.

The unidentified driver remained on the scene.
