Man killed in downtown shooting

A fatal shooting at a downtown Las Vegas home early Monday morning is under investigation, according to Las Vegas police.

Patrol officers were sent to a home in the 600 block of South 11th Street, near Charleston Boulevard, just before 1 a.m., police said. A man was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Homicide detectives' initial investigation indicated the man was shot inside an apartment by an unknown suspect or suspects, who left before police arrived.

Detectives don't know what led to the shooting and had not made any arrests, police said Tuesday night.

The victim's identity will be released by the Clark County coroner's office after his family has been notified.

Additional information was not immediately available.

This is the 74th homicide investigated by Las Vegas police in 2015.
