Man killed in Las Vegas shooting identified

A man who was shot dead in the central valley on Thursday evening was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office on Saturday as DeAngelo Williams, 28, of Las Vegas.

He died from a gunshot wound to the torso, the coroner said.

Officers were called to the Sherman Gardens apartment complex, in the 1700 block of J Street, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Owens Avenue, about 7:30 p.m., Las Vegas police said.

Police believe that Williams and a woman were arguing when a man shot him multiple times. That man ran from the scene, police said.

Williams later died at University Medical Center, police said.
