Man killed in west valley scooter crash identified

The Clark County coroner's office has identified a man killed when a scooter he was riding crashed into the side of a car Saturday in the west valley.

He is Adrien Rudy Palacio, 34, of Las Vegas, the coroner's office said Monday. Palacio died at University Medical Center. His death was classified an accident.

First responders were called about 6:15 p.m. to the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Windemere Drive, near Fort Apache Road.

Palacio was eastbound on Charleston on a 2011 JMSTar scooter, approaching Windemere, when a 2002 Honda Civic turning into an apartment complex, got in front of his path.

Palacio tried avoiding the sedan, but the scooter fell and crashed into the car, police said.

The three people in the sedan were not hurt, police said.
